Bulldogs walk off Reds

Written by Rev

The East York Bulldogs, scored a two out run in the home half of the ninth, to walk off the Thornhill Reds 4-3 on Monday night.

Quinn Cumming(2-0) was the winner in relief, on a night the Bulldogs used six arms ahead of the Elimination Tournament this weekend. Tyler Plumpton and Jake Gallo had two hits each to lead the Bulldog attack, however it was a two run triple in the third from Paul Wilson that had the Bulldogs in command most of the night.

Hunter Greenough(1-1) picked up the loss for the Reds in his second inning of work. Joe Presutti hit home run number four on the year for Thornhill, and finished with a two hit night, scoring twice. Chris Bloom had a three hit night for the Reds, who will head into the weekend on a two game losing streak. With the win, the Bulldogs snapped a two game skid and sit in second place in the GTBL standings.

Tuesday sees the final game before the Provincial Championships, when Leaside visits Newmarket at the Fairgrounds at 7:30pm.
