The GTBL held the 2022 AGM on Sunday February 20th, and plans to return to a normal summer season are in place. Points of discussion that were tabled for the second(voting) meeting of the year were season length, playoff format, potential health protocols and other general rule modifications.

All six franchises reported both willingness and excitement to return to action, and will field clubs for 2022. One change to the usual week night start times will be in East York, where Monday evening games will be slated for 8pm first pitch.

The league executive features two new members for 2022 is as follows.

Nolan Revin- President/Statistician

Art Stoner- Commissioner

Sal Stabile- Vice President

Treasurer- Doug Wilton replaces Steve Marshall

Secretary- Dan Lehmkuhl replaces Matt Nailer

Umpire in Chief- Chris Teliatnik

The league extends a very hearty thank you to both Marsh and Nails for their contributions and time on the league executive, appreciate the help fellas!

The GTBL also added an "eastern area" umpire scheduler, as Jim Taylor will now take care of umpires for both Kendal and Ajax.

On a provincial note, Tecumseh/Windsor is set to host the 2022 Elimination tournament once given the 100% approval from Baseball Canada regarding the senior national tournament. It seems at least two familiar teams from the provincial scale are no longer in existence with both Niagara and Mississauga from COBA Major folding over the pandemic. The tournament field will only be down one team however, as the Exeter Express plan to declare AAA and attend out of the SWBL.

More news to follow after our follow up meeting on March 20.
