The Newmarket Hawks made the deepest GTBL run this weekend in the Hap Walters Tournament, succumbing 2-1 in the semi final to the Etobicoke Rangers. The Thornhill Reds were the other GTBL entry to play in at least a quarter final, falling to the Windsor Stars 8-0 on Sunday morning. The Hawks had an excellent shot at a finals meeting and rematch with the Mississauga SW Twins, taking a 1-0 lead to the bottom of the seventh inning, only to see the streaking Rangers rally for a two run inning and walk off win.
